Patent Litigation

I’ve been a technical expert on several biotech, diagnostics, and microfluidics-based patent litigations. A few examples are below. 

 

Case 1.  Evaluation of claims in terms of patent infringement between two multi-billion-dollar biotechnology firms.  

 

Case 2. Evaluation of acquired patent portfolio relative to potential infringement of several existing medical diagnostics companies. 

 

Case 3. Technical expert regarding several IPRs filed against a multi-billion-dollar diagnostic company (Becton Dickinson) by another company (Qiagen). This involved extensive declarations and an in-person deposition. My input was identified as critical to the successful rejection of the IPRs by the USPTO. The case resulted in German Biotech, Qiagen's agreement to pay $53M to settle the patent suit. See:  Becton, Dickinson and Company et al v. NeuMoDx Molecular, Inc.
